Pakistan Youth Outreach Foundation Mountaineering Camp In SWAT
For the past ten years, Pakistan Youth Outreach has been organizing outdoor sports related events for youth. The outdoor mountaineering training camp is initiative of mountaineering Mr. Mirza Ali, as a part of wider youth outreach program. In particular, the purpose of this event is to promote outdoor sports, encourage those wants to participation in challenging adventure sports and promote tourism especially winter & adventure tourism in Pakistan.
PYOF have been regularly conducting various outdoor programmes for youth. Mostly the events were held in Hunza, but for the first time the mountaineering training camp was organized at Falak Ser base camp 5942metere in Swat KPK, which is the highest mountain in Swat valley in collaboration with “Vguide Tours”. The area was once home to Taliban! We are glade our training camp will unleash new sporting activities in this area; the encouraging part of the training is participation of 12 participants 4 girls and 8 boys, 6 were non local and 6 native of SWAT!!
The event came to a great end and all the participants greatly enjoyed their time & learning experience, and happily returned home after spending a night in Kalam, SWAT. The basic mountaineering camp was an inspiration and motivation for the young participants, as it taught them not only the basic climbing techniques, but also unique survival skills and provided a great platform for social interaction.
We are aiming more outdoor programmes in this amazing region including Ski camps and other winters sports related activities.
